Building Expansions - Peace Lutheran Church, Cold Spring, MN

The links listed below allow interested people to download files related to the Peace Lutheran Building Expansion Project.

As our project gets started, we hope to use this site to provide information to our congregational members and other interested persons.

Current Schedule of Work Items:

  • Bids were due on Thursday, April 22, at 3 PM.  110 responses were made to 25 bid packages.  Many companies made multiple bids.
  • On Sunday, April 25, our congregation voted in favor of constructing both the Youth Commons (Education Wing) and the Adult Commons (Fellowship Wing) additions.
  • Our Mission Builders Construction Manager, Clarence Strebal, has been on site since April 29 and is actively addressing many planning issues.  He plans to return to his home in Pennsylvania on May 5th, and return with his wife Marlene and their trailer.
  • We have submitted our documents to our title company, Heartland Title.  They are making the necessary preparations for closing our construction loan with State Bank of Cold Spring.  At the same closing, we will refinance our current mortgage into a short-term mortgage with Thrivent Financial for Lutherans.
  • This first week in May, we will be removing some trees in the construction area.  Xcel Energy is planning to move our electric service line so it will not interfer with the excavation.  We are also planning with WEnner Propane to move our tanks.
  • We have notified our bidders that we will not be signing any contracts until after we close on our construction loan.  In the meantime, we will be evaluating nearly 110 bids for the various work items in the project.

We will post more information, and possibly pictures, as the project progresses.
